Case Study - TUPE advice and redundancy consultation

With a TUPE specialist in the Ashtons HR Consulting team, we tend to get involved in a number of these technically complex legal projects.
In one recent case, a London-based business in the financial services sector decided to outsource part of their work to one of our clients. As the work operations were due to move from London to Birmingham, following the transfer there was a resulting redundancy situation.
The benefit of having both employment lawyers and HR consultants in the Ashtons HR Consulting team meant that we were able to advise on the legal aspects of the TUPE transfer and redundancy procedure, and then provide hands-on support during the redundancy consultation process.
One of our HR consultants conducted weekly one-to-one consultation meetings with the affected employees at our client’s offices in London, producing all the relevant documents and calculations. We then supported the client in conducting the final dismissal meetings and follow-up activities.
